Description

Using an improved isothiocyanate/phenol one-step method, cells are lysed and RNA enzymes are inactivated. Subsequently, total RNA selectively binds to the silica matrix membrane inside the centrifuge column under high salt conditions. Through a series of rapid wash-centrifugation steps, impurities such as cell metabolites and proteins are removed by the protein removal and wash solutions. Finally, pure RNA is eluted from the silica matrix membrane using low salt RNase-free water.
