Description
Ultra-Low Attachment 96-Well Plates (Round Bottom with Lid, Individually Wrapped) is one of the most commonly used plates for suspension cell and 3D cell culturing. This product line coats the surfaces of the culture plates/dishes with a special ultra-low adhesion polymer material, forming an ultra-thin hydrophilic layer, preventing cells from adhering and growing on the surface. As a result, it's ideal for the cultivation of suspension cells, especially suitable for various 3D cell cultures, tumor spheroids, tumor organoids, neurospheres, leukocytes, etc. The usage of this ultra-low adhesion culture plate/dish is straightforward and similar to the traditional cell culture experiments. For 3D cell culturing, most cells form 3D spheroids within 24 hours in U-shaped bottom 96-well plates; for flat-bottom plates or dishes, it generally takes 3-5 days or more. For the 96-well plates, it's recommended that the seeding amount is 5,000-10,000 cells per well, and tumor cells are easier to culture into 3D cells.
3D tumor cell models are increasingly used to understand disease mechanisms and drug development. While 2D cultured tumor cells can uniformly obtain nutrients and oxygen through their single molecular membrane, the cells inside clusters like tumors have fewer opportunities, creating a natural gradient that simulates microenvironment conditions. Therefore, 3D tumor spheroids or tumor organoids can better represent tumors in vivo, which is more conducive for small molecule drug screening or disease research, and can more accurately predict drug treatment reactions, efficacy, or toxicity. Moreover, 2D tumor cell models have certain limitations in vitro expansion. They might lose the genetic heterogeneity of the original tumor after subculturing and show a preference for dominant clone selection, with lower clinical relevance. Compared to 2D cell models, 3D cells or organoids provide more biologically relevant results, simplifying and accelerating the drug evaluation process. Since the establishment of the small intestine organoid model in 2009, research on 3D cells and organoids has expanded to multiple tissue systems, becoming one of the hottest technologies in the field of life sciences.
Features
- For this ultra-low adhesion culture plate/dish, except for the ultra-low adhesion 96-well plate (round bottom with lid, individually packaged) which has a round or "U-type" bottom (Round Bottom), the others all have a flat bottom (Flat bottom). For information about packaging, color, external dimensions, well height, bottom surface area of the well, recommended culture medium volume, location of the double diagonal corners, and similar products, please refer to the table below.
- Cells in the ultra-low adhesion 96-well plate (round bottom with lid, individually packaged) will aggregate after 2 hours and can form a 3D spheroid within 2 days (Figure 1). For the flat-bottomed ultra-low adhesion plate/dish, it generally takes more than 3-5 days to form 3D cells. If you need to cultivate 3D cells in a short period and perform corresponding chemiluminescence or fluorescence detection, you can cultivate them in this ultra-low adhesion 96-well plate and then transfer them to white or black plates. During transfer, you can directly use a 200μl pipette tip to transfer all culture medium along with the 3D cells; even if continued cultivation for 1-2 days, the 3D spheroid remains mostly intact.
- This ultra-low adhesion culture plate/dish is of superior quality, made using ultra-precision molds and fully automated production processes. The culture plate series are all individually packaged in thermoformed plastic boxes, while the culture dish series are minimally packaged in sets of 10 per bag. The culture dish packaging bag features an easy-tear design for convenience.
- This ultra-low adhesion culture plate/dish complies with ergonomic design and is easy to operate. The culture plate has a side anti-slip design, and the culture dish has a side grip ring design, which facilitates handling and minimizes contact area, thereby greatly reducing the chances of contamination during cell culture.
- The thickness of the well bottoms of the 96-well and 384-well plates in this series, whether black or white, is approximately 0.6mm, which is thinner than traditional polystyrene plates and has lower background fluorescence.
- For the white transparent-bottomed 96-well or 384-well plates, both the bottom and the lid of the well plate are transparent, facilitating the observation of the cultivated cells, while other parts are white. The white frame can refract visible light, maximizing light output while minimizing crosstalk between wells. It's primarily used for experiments involving luminescence analysis in chemiluminescence detectors. For the black transparent-bottomed 96-well or 384-well plates, both the bottom and the lid of the well plate are transparent, facilitating the observation of the cultivated cells, while other parts are black. The black frame absorbs all refracted and reflected stray light, has a lower background fluorescence, and minimizes crosstalk between wells. It's often used for fluorescence detection with weaker signals, but can also be used for chemiluminescence analysis, suitable for top-read or bottom-read multifunctional enzyme label instruments.
- The bottom thickness of this ultra-low adhesion culture plate/dish is uniform, smooth and glossy, with excellent optical properties. There won't be any optical distortions or scratches when viewed under a high-magnification microscope.
- The lid of this ultra-low adhesion culture plate/dish fits snugly onto the body and features a condensation ring, which facilitates ventilation while effectively preventing contamination or evaporation of the culture medium.
- Each well bottom of this ultra-low adhesion culture plate is clearly marked with alphabetical or numerical coordinates, making it easy to distinguish, identify, and record.
- This ultra-low adhesion culture plate features a design with two diagonal corners on one side, and the plate cover fits in one direction, ensuring the direction of the lid is unique.
- The top of the lid of this ultra-low adhesion culture plate has stacking rings, facilitating stacking to save space; it's compatible with the majority of multi-well plate equipment.
- This ultra-low adhesion culture plate/dish is manufactured in a 100,000-grade dust-free workshop environment, sterilized by UV irradiation, and is free from DNase, RNase, pyrogens, and endotoxins.
