Description

Rapid UV Protein Gel Stain is used for detecting proteins separated by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). It is a small molecule fluorescent substrate precursor with a molecular weight of 150 Daltons. During the preparation of the polyacrylamide gel, the UVFS protein gel stain is added to the gel. After completing the electrophoresis, the gel is exposed to ultraviolet light for 2-5 minutes of activation, and protein bands exhibit blue fluorescence, achieving the purpose of color visualization. The entire process is simple, convenient, and fast.

Features

• The Rapid UV Protein Gel Stain does not affect the immunological function detection of proteins and does not interfere with subsequent Western Blot (WB) processes and results.
• By adding the protein gel stain during the gel preparation process, the separated proteins in the gel can be observed under UV excitation. This eliminates the need for complicated steps such as gel fixing, staining, destaining, and color development, achieving true stain-free visualization.
• It allows for a quick assessment of the status of protein samples separated by polyacrylamide gel. Additionally, with the help of analysis software in gel scanners, one can perform normalization analysis of protein quantities by calculating the grayscale of total protein or specific individual proteins in the lanes, allowing for timely adjustment of protein amounts.
• The gel, after UV exposure, can be re-stained using other staining techniques such as Coomassie Blue staining and silver staining.
