5 '- 3' exonuclease activity for TaqMan probe cleavage.
For RT-PCR, the RNA template should be no longer than 280 bp. The recommended length range is 70-150 bp.
The polymerase is 100% inactive below 50°C and can be completely recovered only after heating at 92°C for 5 min.

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to catalyze the incorporation of 10 nmol dNTP into an acid-insoluble substance within 30 min at 68°C.
