Description
Rolling Circle Amplification (RCA) is a recently developed isothermal nucleic acid amplification method. Using circular DNA as a template and a short DNA primer (complementary to part of the circular template), phi29 DNA polymerase catalyzes the conversion of dNTPs into single-stranded DNA. This single-stranded DNA contains hundreds to thousands of repeated sequences complementary to the template. This method can not only directly amplify DNA and RNA but also enhance the signal of target nucleic acids, achieving a sensitivity down to a single copy molecule.
The kit includes Random Hexamers, which are 6-base random primers that can exponentially amplify the target molecule (typically by 100 to 10,000 times). For specific experiments, related primers can be paired according to user needs.
