Description
Plant Protoplasts Transfection Kit can be used to transfect plasmids, Cas9/sgRNA proteins, and RNA into plant protoplasts. After a certain period of cultivation following transfection, the transfected plant protoplasts can be used to detect the expression and function of exogenous genes, or the effects of gene knockdown, knockout, or editing post-transfection.
For Arabidopsis protoplasts, transcriptional changes (such as mRNA and other RNA changes) can typically be detected 2-6 hours after transfection with plasmids using this kit. Changes in protein expression are usually detectable 2-16 hours post-transfection, and gene editing effects can typically be detected within 24 hours.
Plant protoplasts are crucial materials for a range of plant cell studies and can be transfected using methods such as electroporation, microinjection, or PEG-mediated transfection. This kit utilizes an optimized PEG transfection method, leveraging the transient impact of PEG on protoplasts to facilitate the entry of plasmid DNA, RNA, or proteins into the protoplasts. It offers advantages such as convenience of use and high transfection efficiency.
When used in conjunction with Plant Protoplasts Isolation Kit, this kit can accomplish short-term or long-term expression of exogenous genes in model organisms like Arabidopsis protoplasts, or modulation (such as closure, knockdown, or editing) of endogenous genes.
