Description

Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail C (50X) is a mixture of phosphatase inhibitors used for protein extraction from animal cells or tissues, fungi, bacteria, and plants, as well as for other related purposes. It contains 1.25mM (-)-p-bromotetramisole oxalate, 250μM Cantharidin, and 250nM Microcystin-LR in DMSO, and can broadly inhibit alkaline and Ser/Thr phosphatases such as PP1 and PP2A in protein extracts.

Extracts from cells or tissues contain many endogenous proteases and phosphatases that can lead to protein degradation or dephosphorylation, affecting subsequent protein detection. Adding appropriate protease and phosphatase inhibitors to the extracts is an effective method to prevent protein degradation and dephosphorylation. This phosphatase inhibitor cocktail can effectively inhibit common phosphatases from dephosphorylating proteins, maintaining the original phosphorylation state of the proteins.

This product is an optimized and tested phosphatase inhibitor cocktail for protein extraction from animal cells or tissues, fungi, bacteria, and plants, containing inhibitors for alkaline and Ser/Thr phosphatases.

The phosphatase inhibitor cocktail contains 1.25mM (-)-p-bromotetramisole oxalate, 250μM Cantharidin, and 250nM Microcystin-LR, prepared in high-purity DMSO.

This product is convenient to use; typically, it is added to the lysis buffer at a 1:50 ratio for protein extraction from samples, effectively inhibiting protein dephosphorylation.

This product can effectively inhibit various phosphatases in protein extracts, such as alkaline and Ser/Thr phosphatases like protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) and protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A). (-)-p-bromotetramisole oxalate is an irreversible inhibitor of alkaline phosphatases; Cantharidin is a reversible inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A with an IC50 of 40nM; and Microcystin-LR is a reversible inhibitor of protein phosphatase 1 and protein phosphatase 2A with IC50 values of 1.7nmol and 40pmol, respectively.

Store at -20°C, valid for one year.
