Description
LtrCas13a Nuclease (also known as C2c2) is a crRNA-guided RNA endonuclease derived from the Leptotrichia trevisanii strain. In the presence of a PFS sequence in the target single-stranded RNA, it can selectively recognize and cleave the target RNA. Additionally, Cas13a exhibits trans-cleavage activity (also known as collateral cleavage activity). That is, when the LtrCas13a protein forms a ternary complex with crRNA and target RNA, it is activated to perform trans-cleavage activity against non-specific sequence single-stranded RNA, resulting in the cleavage of any sequence single-stranded RNA in the system. This activity has also been utilized in the development of rapid diagnostic kits for target nucleic acids.
