Description

L-NAME, also known as N^G-Nitro-L-arginine Methyl Ester, Hydrochloride, or L-NAME, HCl or N^ω-NO₂-L-Arg-OMe or N^G-NO₂-L-Arg-OMe, is a reversible inhibitor of eNOS (endothelial nitric oxide synthase) with an IC₅₀ of 500 nM. At high concentrations (e.g., 100 μM or higher), L-NAME can also significantly inhibit iNOS and nNOS.

L-NAME is a nearly white powder with a molecular weight of 269.7 and a molecular formula of C₇H₁₅N₅O₄·HCl, with a purity greater than 98%. It is soluble in water and can be prepared as a 50 mg/mL aqueous solution.

Storage Conditions

Store at -20°C, protected from light, valid for one year.
