Description

Isofraxidin, a coumarin component derived from Acanthopanax senticosus, inhibits MMP-7 expression and cell invasion in human hepatoma cells. It also inhibits the phosphorylation of ERK1/2 in hepatoma cells. Additionally, Isofraxidin attenuates the expression of iNOS and COX-2. Furthermore, it inhibits the formation of the TLR4/myeloid differentiation protein-2 (MD-2) complex.

In Vitro Study

Isofraxidin effectively suppresses MMP-7 expression and in vitro cell invasion in hepatoma cell lines without inducing toxicity, achieved by inhibiting ERK1/2 phosphorylation. It competitively inhibits the formation of the TLR4/MD-2 complex, thereby modulating TLR4/NF-κB signaling cascades. Additionally, Isofraxidin shows promise in the treatment of Osteoarthritis (OA).
