Description
DNA-Free E. coli Poly(A) Polymerase catalyzes the addition of ATP to the 3’ end of single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) primers without the need for a template, typically adding 20-200 consecutive AMP residues to form a polyA tail. This polyA tail can enhance mRNA stability. Adding a polyA tail to RNAs that naturally lack one (such as microRNAs) provides an oligo-dT primer binding site for cDNA synthesis.
Our DNA-Free enzymes are all recombinant proteins and purified through multiple steps, devoid of genomic and plasmid DNA from the production strain.
Unit Definition
One unit of activity is defined as the amount of enzyme required to incorporate 1 nmol AMP into 16nt ssRNA within 10 minutes at 37℃ under 1× Poly(A) Polymerase reaction buffer conditions.
