Description

Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP), also known as B-type natriuretic peptide, consists of 32 amino acids and is one of the main natriuretic peptides in mammalian cardiomyocytes. When cardiac dysfunction occurs, the natriuretic peptide system is greatly activated, and increased ventricular load leads to BNP release. Therefore, BNP is an important index for diagnosing left ventricular dysfunction, heart failure, and myocardial infarction.
