B27 Supplement (50X, Minus Vitamin A), also known as B27 Serum-Free Supplement (without Vitamin A), B-27 Supplement (without Vitamin A), B-27 Supplement without Vitamin A (50X), B27 Additive (without Vitamin A), B27 Additive (Vitamin A-free), or B27 Serum-Free Additive (without Vitamin A), is an optimized neuronal stem cell culture supplement. It is derived from the complete B27 Supplement but with Vitamin A removed, and is widely used to support the growth and maintenance of hippocampal and other central nervous system (CNS) neural stem cells, ensuring their short-term or long-term viability.
B27 Supplement (50X, Minus Vitamin A) is an ideal choice for culturing neural progenitor cells and neural stem cells. Whether used in suspension culture or monolayer culture, it does not induce neuronal differentiation, making it broadly applicable in studies of neural development/differentiation and the role of stem cells in genetic/degenerative disease therapies.
B27 Supplement (50X, Minus Vitamin A) is provided in a 50X liquid form and is compatible with Neurobasal, Neurobasal-A, DMEM/F12, or DMEM (low-glucose) media for the normal culture and growth of neural stem cells without requiring an astrocyte feeder layer.
This product undergoes strict quality control and sterile filtration. It is serum-free and formulated with high-quality antioxidants and various cytokines involved in neural stem cell survival, synapse maturation, and neurite extension. It does not contain Vitamin A and is of the highest quality, enabling efficient culture of multiple types of neural stem cells while enhancing their survival in long-term culture conditions.

- Survival of neural stem cells from the embryonic rat striatum, substantia nigra, septum, and cortex, as well as neonatal cerebellum (fetal and adult neural stem cells).
- When combined with β-FGF, it supports the growth and maintenance of cortical neural stem cells.
Storage
Store at -20ºC, with a shelf life of two years.
Precautions
- This product has been sterile-filtered. Aseptic techniques should be followed during use to prevent contamination.
- If the product becomes cloudy or shows signs of precipitation, discontinue use immediately. Check whether contamination occurred during use or storage, and take precautions to prevent future contamination.
- Based on experimental needs, it is recommended to aliquot and freeze the product to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, which may affect its performance.
- This product does not contain Vitamin A. If Vitamin A is added, its performance will be identical to B27 Supplement (50X, Serum-free).
- L-Ala-Gln and L-Gln can be purchased from us.
