Description
DNA recombination technology allows for the addition of specific tags to target proteins, and the expressed fusion proteins can then be detected using tag-specific antibodies, greatly facilitating scientific research. Common protein tags include Myc, HA, Flag, V5, and GST.
The V5 tag is a 14-amino acid sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) derived from the P and V proteins of simian virus 5 (SV5). It has a small molecular weight and has minimal impact on the activity and intracellular localization of fusion proteins.
Our V5 antibody can detect V5 tags located at the N-terminus or C-terminus of fusion proteins. It is used for studying the expression, intracellular localization, as well as for the qualitative or quantitative analysis of V5-tagged fusion proteins.
