Description

Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is a 140 kDa glycoprotein composed of disulfide-linked homologous dimers, belonging to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) family within the superfamily of growth and differentiation factors. In males, AMH is produced by immature Sertoli cells in the testes, while in females, it is secreted by granulosa cells of preantral and small antral follicles in the ovaries. AMH plays a critical role in the regression of Müllerian ducts during development. Notably, AMH is recognized as one of the most reliable biomarkers for assessing ovarian reserve function.
