Recombinant Tobacco Etch Virus Protease (TEV Protease), GMP Grade
Description
Tobacco Etch Virus Protease (TEV Protease) is a recombinant protease derived from the Nla protein of Tobacco etch virus (TEV). It specifically recognizes the seven-amino-acid sequence EXXYXQ(G/S) (e.g., Glu-Asn-Leu-Tyr-Phe-Gln-Gly). This product is recombinantly expressed in Escherichia coli and has a molecular weight of 45kDa. The optimal enzymatic reaction occurs within a pH range of 5.5–8.5 and a temperature range of 30–37°C. The protease remains fully active under conditions containing 1mol/L urea or 1–5mmol/L DTT, β-mercaptoethanol, EDTA, PMSF, aprotinin, leupeptin, and other protease inhibitors.

Notes:
① CoA indicators can include additional tests like microbial limits, host protein residues, or host DNA residues as per customer requirements.
② Enzyme activity definition: One activity unit (U) is defined as the amount of enzyme required to cleave 3μg of substrate, achieving over 95% cleavage, in TEV Buffer (50mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 0.5mM EDTA, 1mM DTT) at 30°C for 2 hours.
Advantages
- Produced under GMP-compliant conditions, ensuring consistent quality across production batches.
- High purity, enzymatic activity, and cleavage specificity with no contaminant enzyme activities. No animal-derived materials are used in production.
Storage
- Storage Stability: The lyophilized powder remains stable for 24 months when stored below -15°C. After reconstitution, it remains stable for up to 7 days at 2–8°C or through three freeze-thaw cycles if stored below -15°C.
- Transport Stability: Shipped with ice packs to maintain enzyme activity without loss.
