Cell culture meat startup CellX has completed tens of millions of yuan angel round financing at the beginning of this year. This is CellX's second round of financing in half a year after last year's seed round of financing of millions of yuan.
CellX was founded in 2020, focusing on the research and development of cell culture meat products and their marketization. Different from plant meat, cell culture meat takes animal muscle and fat cells as raw materials and carries out cell culture in vitro on a large scale and at a low cost. At the same time, the cells are transformed into tissues through biological scaffolds and 3D bioprinting technology to truly restore the taste and taste of animal meat.
At present, the CellX team has expanded to more than 20 people and moved into the R&D center in Zhangjiang, Shanghai in the middle of the year. At present, the company has developed a variety of embryonic cell meat products, including structured lump meat produced by scaffold and 3D bioprinting.
